It was incompatible with the new bypass filter adaptors so they are redesigning it. There is nothing wrong with the old design if you are not using a bypass filter. Go ahead and use your EaO88’s on the engines that do not have the AMSOIL By Pass adaptor installed.
I don't think they have any intentions of coming out with any other cartridge style filters. Cost to much to produce. My CTS also uses a cartridge filter (WIX 57090). The EaO88 was a big seller, diesel owners are more willing to spend the extra $$.
