Any Marines Here????

Hello,

Quick question... When a Navy Officer is commissioned, the first person that salutes the new officer is given a silver dollar, as tradition.

I am invited to a lunch that celebrates somebody's USMC commissioning. Do the Marines do a similar thing? I thought a 2009 silver eagle might be a nice gift.

I am an Army Officer and we, too, have that same tradition. I would assume the Marine Corps does also.
