Google voice call forwarding works fine if I select my mobile number as the "forward to" number. But when I change it to forward to my landline (direct number), this landline phone does not ring. If I call my google voice number from another phone (like Skype Out), I just hear a few rings in the headset and then it goes to my Google Voicemail. The landline phone never rings.
I tried deleting this landline number from my google account and entering it again, but it still does not work.
I went through the google troubleshooter on this which did not solve the problem and did not give an option to actually contact Google. It just took me back to the beginning of the troubleshooting process.

I've looked at other threads on this subject and haven't really found a solution in any of them.
The Google support forum hasn't answered by question either.
Any ideas?
