Hi Folks,
I just bought a '01 Isuzu Trooper S 4WD. It has 117K. I purchased it from a small used car lot so I don't have the maintenance history.
Runs very well. I would like to do a good cooling system service on it (stat, hoses, clamps and probably waterpump once I determine if the timing belt has been changed or not).
Currently it runs great with no known issues (cooling system or otherwise). It has green in it now and the owners manuals says something generic about anti-freeze (I forget what it says but it is something generic like 'use quality antifreeze'). No reference to any specs.
What is the best choice. Block and heads are aluminumm and the radiator is aluminum with plastic tanks. I was thinking of going with either Fleetrite Green (50/50 blend with distilled water) or Valvoline G05 (50/50 blend) after a good flush with some radiator flush and a lot of clean water (filtered through a deionizer).
What's the verdict? Green, G05 or ???
Thanks.
