Unfortunately, Mann & Hummel owns Purolator AND Wix now, so consolidation was inevitable.

Yep and many still don’t realize this. The consolidation is underway and soon they will all be the same. Two companies making the vast majority of oil filters, the other being First Brands.

Yep, that bypass valve design looks to be the same as some used in Purolator branded filters.

I’ve noticed on Mighty brand, Pennzoil and few other Puro made ones they still sticking with old Puro date system

Not a bad looking filter, has no combo valve, that's a plus. Run one 5000 miles & then cut it, then you'll know for sure if it's good.

They look like Purolators with the slotted center tube and the elongated holes at the base plate.

The Pro-Tec used to be just a cheap Wix, like the Napa Proselect, but since Mann took over bith Purolator and Wix, they have been consolidating some Wixes to the Purolator design, including most of the cheaper Wix lines (Pro-Tec, Napa Proselect, Microgard, etc)

I bought a Napa Pro Select 2100290 the other day ( for 2017 Cruze 1.4 Turbo), and it appears to be the same filter as the Purolator L11403.
