I think the Navy did a fine job. Let them change tactics, hopefully the Navy will change theirs too. You mess with any US ship you run the risk of getting killed, that is the message that those Pirates should take home with them. Kill enough Pirates they'll become extinct just like the dinosaurs did.

up until now the Pirates learned that the shipping companies would rather pay ransom, it was easier. Maybe now a new message was sent.

Well, they certainly got pretty good at it, most of the time sanctioned by their own governments.

That's not what they've said at all. The media was explaining how pirates began as a vigilante 'privateers' because Europeans were taking advantage of the fact that they had no navy, and were illegally dumping radioactive and medical waste in their coastal waters, much of which was carried out by mafia related companies. The Somali fisherman then received arms from warlords and began boarding and searching illegal dumpers. Unfortunately, this also taught them invaluable skills in hostile boarding which they would later use to go rogue. This has been well documented...


Ah ...more chickens coming home to roost. Darn that's really an inconvenient side effect of some things.

Ah, but not all Irish, are Irish, boyo.

To be fair, once they gained a level filed or an upper hand , Irish immigrants embraced racism and prejudice with just as much abandon as anyone else.

Maybe not quite as much, but certainly participated to some degree.

Unfortunately, the same can be said for ALL ethnic groups.

Oh, I see. Racism has almost always be a matter of class and cultural distinction. It didn't matter if you were Irish or Chinese when they built the railway across the nation, you were worm meat for the machinery. The difference was geography.

Now ..how do we make profiteering pirates worm meat without getting productivity out of them? I guess managing to get arms to them for mutual internalized self digestion has worked its way out as far as it can go. Now they've stabilized enough to work outside their own little box of misery and spill out of it.

They're foraging outside of the confines of the preserve. Time for Somali wild life management policies to be upgraded.

Yes we can, we can do war crime and nuke the entire place, genocide, but that would not be a realistic solution from USA.
