At the 40,000 mile mark i changed my Saturn SC2 from dino oil (Penz 5W-30) it had all it's life to M1. While i noticed a bit more engine noise but nothing objectional, it did use approximately 1 quart of oil in 3000 miles. Previously, on dino, it never used any measurable amount in between oil changes (3000 miles).
At 43,000 miles i switched to the green elixer of life, GC. Have approximately 2000 on it now and no detectable oil usage...
So in addition to no oil usage, i think i have great personal protection. Read my post on the way my life was saved by the ELVES!!!
