frommy 2008 Explorer sport trac This was a dealer installed filter and i swapped it out yesterday after going 6 months with just over 3k on it

The element itself had no tears just one wavy pleat

I notice this filter appears to have a glued seam?

I'm wondering if the few media issues (mine included) have been related to the metal crimped seam change.

I dunno how Motorcraft does it.. They continue to put out a great oil filter for a very good price and not to mention it holds up very very well, better then filters that cost 2x or even 3x the $.
