YZF150,

Which lab? Specifically new or old TBN rating method? Spectacular flash point!

A good dose of Calcium too. Nice oil. I hope it's here to stay!

Yeah, no kidding on the flashpoint. Stuff is ****near inert.

This was Blackstone. It would be their new method, as I did not specify Dexil kit method.

Edit: By the way, SUS conversion is 11.9 CSt. Compare to M1 = 10.0.

My expectations are high, and I know this is true of some other members as well...now if we can just get some UOAs in to see if reality matches expectation.

I should do a VOA on one of my bottles, I'm curious if we've got high iron on our stuff here. Problem is I've got so many different batches out of the 20 bottles I have.

I love that viscosity and TBN! I'm very anxious to put this oil in my Firebird now, I think the LT1 will prefer this thicker oil for sure.

Here are the #'s copied from my VOA of the synthetic Lubro-Moly 0w40 SJ: notice the similarities in Phos, Zinc, Magn, & Calcium.
Copper 1
Iron 3
Chromium 0
Aluminum 2
Lead 1
Moly 1
Phosphorus 1638
Zinc 1532
Magnesium 860
Calcium 3100
A-freeze .0%
Fuel dilution none
H2O .0%
Silicon 5(my guess is antifoam)
Viscosity cst 13.09
SAE 40
Sulfur, oxidation, & Nitration; all 0

Boron, TBN, Sodium: not tested

Uh...let's see...similarities in Phos, Zinc, Mag, and Calcium?

Castrol has 901 ppm of Phos; Lubro-Moly has 1638.
Castrol has 1033 ppm of Zinc; Lubro-Moly has 1532.
Castrol has 127 ppm of Mag; Lubro-Moly has 860.
Castrol has 3649 ppm of Calcium; Lubro-Moly has 3100.

The only "similarity" between these additives in these two oils is that they both HAVE these additives.

Yes, the stuff you saw was the SJ formulation, made in the USA, and not anywhere near the same as the SL formulation made in Germany.
