Anker 10k power bank recall

First it’s the EVs, now power banks and laptops… this “green” push sure seems to be causing a lot of red… as in 🔥
seems like the quality of some power banks and batteries are not high quality lately. I always thought the "green push" only had to do with the color of money!

My Aukey battery bank started shooting out smoke right after a flight. No recall in that model. Aukey appeared to be a decent brand until Amazon kicked them off their platform for some reason. Good on Anker taking this seriously.

wow thanks for that info, that's crazy. It seems it's always around being on a plane, could it be the pressurization of the cabin that's causing these Li-Ion packs to short out? Makes sense, pressure building up on them. I think there was a Samsung tablet that was banned on flights, think it was because of the battery.

I appreciate the heads-up. Knowing I've purchased quite a few Anker products, I searched Amazon and have three of their power banks. One is model A1261, but it's not part of the recall... yet.

I'm flying to London in September and always take a power bank. I'll order up a "tsa approved lithium ion fireproof battery safe travel bag" off Amazon to go with it.

I bought this model in 2018 and Amazon just sent me a notice. Mines been on an empty charge for years though, been too lazy and forgetful to charge it up but now that's a good thing lol.
