Seems to have a Full Boatload of bugs in it.

6.0.0 was much better.

I get weird bluetooth issues sometimes if I have 2 or more devices in range also reconnect issues occasionally if I walk out of range and back a few times.

And the big one. Giant battery killer.

Bluetooth Used to consume 3-5% with 2-3 hours of actual music streaming daily. Now it consumes 15-20% of my battery doing nothing unless I turn it off.

This 15% drain was 7 hours of idling and about 15min connected to my car (but not streaming)
Bluetooth was on from 11am until about 6:30pm

Pre 6.0.1 this would have been 1-2% battery use.

Note: Time on includes while on charger last night

Any ideas besides turning off bluetooth, clearing app cache, or factory reset?

I've also already cleared app cache, and disabled location scanning wi-fi and bluetooth.

Sometimes it takes a few days to learn your usage..
Auto brightness?
Turn off account syncing if you don't use them
If it were me I would root and remove factory bloatware.

I was plenty happy with everything turned on for 4 weeks until the 6.0.1 update where bluetooth is now using aprox 25% of the battery life by itself. When not connected to anything.

the 25% comes from the fact that it used 15% of the 2700mah battery in 7-8 hours.(4xx mah/2700mah) (phone had 38% remaining)

For the previous 1 month even under heavy use ie actual music streaming for 4-5 hours and on all day it never exceeded 5%

This update was also heavy on bluetooth changes. For example the device(headphones/speaker) and the bluetooth volume on the phone have been combined.

If I hit the volume button on my speaker the bluetooth volume on the phone goes up and down now.. instead of 2 separate volumes. Seems like they screwed something up making all these changes and now it eats battery.

Today my phone has been off charger for 2.5 hours with low use and its still 99%(BT disabled). The other morning with BT on (but phone not in use) it was at 91% after 2-3 hours.

There is no real bloatware as its a nexus 5x from google.. very plain android experience. No need to root.

I did all that stuff with previous phones but no reason to on the nexus 5x. Also it disables android pay if you root.

I'd like to use the android pay promo where you get a 20$ bestbuy GC at least.

I have a 5X with 6.0.1. I haven't seen strange battery usage. It is a little quirky connecting to Ford SYNC sometimes. More so, it seems from memory, than my last phone running 4.4.4.

I have Nexus 6 and am waiting for Android 6. I bought a new unlocked Nexus 6 and no one can tell me where the updates come from or when I will get Android 6. Google only directly updates Nexus phones you buy from Google Play. Motorola made the phone and said the updates come from Google. Google says no for a phone bought on Amazon.

I do get updates to Android 5.

Sage advice, to be sure; but the Nexus phones are the "purest" Android experience you can get and have little or no manufacturer-added garbage.

You can do it manually. Do a google search and check out a couple tutorials.

I am concerned I might not get automatic updates if I did that.

No need to be concerned with that. You're already not getting auto updates for some reason. The update has been out for like 3 months. I'd manually do it. Maybe that will fix whatever issue there is.
