Wayne I did the same thing. Only thing is I haven't been back yet to check. I was calculating that I need an additional 3 qts to make my stash an even 6 OCI's worth. Dang car has a 4.5 qt sump (was it THAT hard to make it an even 5???). Anyway, I figure I'll see how my car reacts to the GC before buying those 3 qts. If in the unprobable and unimaginable event that my car doesn't fair well with it...hmmm...I'm sure I could find a good home for the rest here..

First of all a big thank you to Terry and to all who contributed to this study.
An advanced formulation like this, explains and justifies the delay.
As a european customer i can't understand how this hi-end synthetic oil is being sold in such a low price there, considering the fact that is being produced in eurore.
The answer is ringing one more time in my ears, i am nothing but a cow for the majority of the european companies.

yannis,

Don't be so hard on yourself and maybe not so hard on Eurocompanies...I think taxes have ALOT to do with it...not just corporate profit.

PS While I am BITOGing I am listening to Magic of the Greek Bouzouki-Near the Sea featuring Michalis Terzis

That would be ironic if I am listening to Michalis Terzis and your are listening to Aerosmith.

The 2 in Katy I cleaned out with the Pep Boys Coupon, both had a few Yellow Label left and one had restocked with the Gold GC. Deer Park had 5, went back to get them, only 1 left, I got it. La Porte has only Yellow. The one on Hwy 6 north south of Copperfield has only M0502* gold. One in Pasadena only has American made (both Yellow and Red Label), one had a mix of Yellow and red label AC and a few GC). The one in Alief had 3-4 GC, the rest were Yellow label, but that was a few months ago.
I am going to check the ones I cleaned out and just see what they are re-stocking with. I have 25qts of GC along with 16 qts of M1 0w-30, so I am fine for a while with 7500 mile OCI (about 5 months) and only 4 qts/ per change.

Man, I have been to too many AZ's.

I must be catching the sickness too. I changed (and sampled) my Cubcadet 16Hp Kohler with 2.25 qts of the "real" GC 0w-30 and 2 ounces LC.

The Schaeffers 15w-40 7000 Blend was still good after 46 hours and 2 years, so analysis will tell how good . I just had to try the GC in that engine.

Not a drop of the green stuff left in North Texas I can find. Who keeps ripping off the Greenville, Sulphur Springs,Rockwall Autozones ??

Every time I go into my local AZ, if I see the old USA Syntec 0w30, I move it to the front of the rack, hoping someone will clean the old stuff out.

I have a question:
I have used synthetics since the 80's!
My father and his father both used them as well, in every piece of machinery that had a motor.

Amsoil and M1.

My question is and I don't dought the word of any of U here.

Since GC seems to be one of the best synthetic motor oils out there on the market!

Why in the world is Castrol not spending millions of dollars advertising it and really pushing the sales of the GC?

And mainly keeping everyone in stock of this great product.

Unless they have developed a better product?
which it might be tough to do.

Any thoughts?

Maybe, they make more profit on the 'regular' Syntec and dino juice?

I don't think they want to highlight a particular member of the Syntec line, keeping it Syntec=Syntec=Syntec. I suspect alot of their customers look for the API markings and don't care about ACEA so why point out the uniqueness? If they begin to hype the Euro-oils then they might get, "So all the rest of the Syntec line is not as good because it doesn't say 'Made in Germany (or Belgium)'?"

Very Interesting marketing concept.
Just glad I don't understand it, I just might think like them.

Well:
Since I live in a small town and only have 1 AZ close by.

And of course Kendall{MGR} was Out of Stock, of the Green Goo! Didn't have a clue when they were going to receive more.

And our Walmart stocks every thing but GC.

I will stick with Amsoil Series 2000, they seem to be very similiar. {for the wifes new Axiom}

And I'll keep M1 5w-40 in my old truck {256K miles}.

Are stores getting new shipments in of the older dates, or are they only getting the newer Amber Castrol M05xxx dates.

I have 42 quarts that I picked up several months ago. After seeing the "glowing" report I decided to get some more. This is turning out to be hard to do. I happed to be passing an AZ and stopped in, they had 22 quarts (mostly 04xx). "Had" is the operative term!

Now have enough for 85,000 miles in my wife's car.

Europe= Punitive taxes and deeply ingrained socialism. Come to America, where it all began because of taxation without representation.
