Forgot I had these pics on my phone.

The first snowfall this winter was October 12, 2019.

These pics are the first heavy snowfall this winter. October 31, 2019.

Heavy, sticky snow.

Those trees are supposed to be standing up. The one is a bulbous pine tree about 10 feet tall that normally sort of looks like a hot air balloon. But the top 3 or so feet of it is weighted down and slumped to the left onto the roof of that structure next to it. The rest of its limbs are all pushed down. The branches touching the ground are normally about 5 feet off the ground.

The tree with a road in the background is supposed to be standing up like the left side of it is. I'm surprised the branches didn't break.

I'm looking forward to the ice/snow driving videos from Russia.
I'm most impressed on the number of old Lada's I see in them!

Haha same here!!

I had three awesome weekends of skiing...then it rained like crazy for two days.
I'm probably not going to bother to go this coming weekend.

I feel bad for you guys who don't get to experience the seasons!!

What I mind the most is the icy walkways and wooden steps around my home. Given dogs and what salt does to things I do what I can with a shovel. Wife wants to use a flame thrower on anything with ice.

We have all AWD or 4WD so no real issue driving in the snow.

There's always this back and forth with the weather chatter. Long ago my dad said about moving south from Minneapolis area='I'd spend about the same amount of time indoors due to the heat as I do up here due to the cold'. The folks couldn't afford 2 places, so stayed up north with occasional winter visits to southern pals, who generally came north to visit them during summer. That was a good exchange and I think dad had the right idea..

We had our first snow of the year yesterday in north AL
We got about a half inch and it is disappearing already
Should be gone before today is over

Don't bother. I experienced the seasons for 48 years in NW Pa and my regret is not realizing sooner how poor the good weather/bad weather ratio is there. Coming on 15 years and still don't miss it a bit.

AZJeff: we have had maybe a dusting here northwest of Pittsburgh

Was a balmy 19F this morning today but to be high 40's this weekend

They've had decent snow in DuBois (where we escaped from).

If it seems a bit lonely there over the weekend it was because most Stiller fans were in the stadium in Phoenix. Not pretty but a W is a W. You can't believe how many Stiller fans live here.

0 degrees last night.
High of 7 F today.
Windchill -25 F. what?
.
Guess it's about time to figure out where my gloves from last winter are.

Today in the year 1930 was 58 degrees.

I was thinking about making a 10-foot-tall snowman in the front yard this weekend, but if you tell him it's not winter yet, he might think he doesn't exist.
