Can anyone comment on Amsoil's oil precharger. They just released it and I just read about it on their site. It's an accusump wanna-be.
It only has an oil capacity if about 160cc, which should translate to about ~17% of a quart. They do not mention anything about the output pressure it can generate (granted it will vary from engine to engine). It seems that it is not designed to maintain oil pressure prior to the engine start. It is only designed to kind of ‘wet’ part of the engine before it starts. Its not the same as other pre-oilers (Accusump) that have capacities of 1 to 3 quarts and are designed to maintain oil pressure for brief periods of time (5 to 10 seconds or more).
So my question is, does this very small shot of oil, which is not even enough to circulate throughout the whole engine, enough to make a significant difference? Or is this an expensive scam?
