In the latest Action News letter, there is an article about how the industry is forcing oil companies to reduce anti-wear addivies to improve emissions, something we are all aware of. In the article, it said due to the reduced level of anti-wear additives, oils are not lasting as long. They went on to say Amsoil is testing new formulations to stay ahead of the curve. Ahead of the curve? Isn't Mobil 1 SuperSyn the answer to this along with GC and others? It's going to be interesting to see if Amsoil reduces ZDDP any lower. And if they do, what replaces it. In a few months, Redline and Synergyn might be the only two oils left with hefty amounts of ZDDP.

So is every other oil company in the world.
We'e all testing new base oils and additive combinations every day. Speaking for myself, I have had probably 100 samples tested in the last 18 months alone.
Am I correct in thinking that Diesel oils are not affected by this? This was part of the reasoning behind my switch from Amsoil 0W30 Series 2000 to 5W30 Series 3000.
