P looks a tad low, but I'd say that it's due to lab variances. I hope Amsoil doesn't lower the ZDDP in S2k. ZDDP is still the most effective anti-wear agent available from what I've read and seen. I sound like Tooslick.

HMMMM, I think I would try another lab. Look at the zinc numbers on the virgin vs. UOA.

It seems to be a given now that we see 1 or 2ppm of iron in all different brands of oils in their virgin state. Is this iron actually contamination from rusty pipes in all these cases, or is there some sort of additive in these oils which shows up as a tiny bit of iron?

There's not a whole lot of choices for labs up here in Canada, this one was Metro Tech Systems in Calagary Alberta. I searched around and they've been in business for 30 years and seem to be highly respected.

I know my mechanic was using some sort of additive in my vehicles with each oil change, maybe that's what's throwing the UOA numbers off. This was the first fill of synthetic in this van so there would be some left over dino/additive in the mix. I'm going to keep sending in samples every 10,000km and see what the trend looks like.

Thanks for the info! If Metro Tech's numbers continue to be questionable I'll give them a try.
