I'm using the Mobil Truck & Suv 5w-40 on a Dodge V-8 cargo van...heavy loader. I changed at 1K miles and plan on running it for 5K. What is the best diesel rated oil, I still say it's the Amsoil S3K 5w-30...but would a 40wt oil be a better bet on a heavy loader or would the Amsoil 15w-40 give better protection. I still believe the Amsoil is a better oil than Mobil..

I still say the full syn. Amsoil 15W-40 is hard to beat. In Hawaii it will work as well as it does here in the far northwest (we are way further No. than Harbin, for example)...
I'm not sure what you pay for the M1 5w-40 SUV juice, but compare it to the Amsoil 15W-40.
The S3K is a great oil, but it's quite pricey, and I really don't think it will buy you much for your work rig. Maybe a bit longer OCI.

Will do Pablo...the Amsoil 15w-40...will use LC/FP with it...I am an Amsoil fan and I like the 15w-40 spread
It makes more sense..
15w-40 in a work truck all the way. Tough stuff with a good spread in weights.
