Which one of these is a better oil for an '01 Blazer 4.3. I have both on hand after my Auto RX cycle. I also have some Rotella T syn 5w40 I could use. Lets here it.
Amsoil S2K 0w30 vs. Mobil 1 5w30

The 4.3 likes a little thicker oil than M1 5W-30. Amsoil or GC will work wonderfully
The Amsoil 5W30 is a great oil and a lot cheaper than the 0W30. But if you already have the Rotella on hand...
Again, I would not use Mobil 1 5W-30 except in an engine that is rated for 5W-20, since that's what it almost is.
OK thanks all for the advice. I wonder how the Rotella will be for fuel economy? I know the S2K 0w30 always gave this rig apx. 19 mpg. And right now during the clean cycle using Chevron supreme 5w30 we're getting apx. 16.5 mpg.

Yep, thats what I'm saying.
That is quite an increase.
That sure makes the synthetic oil more atractive. It would be nice to see how the Group III Rotella compares to the Amsoil.
