Amsoil ASE 30wt 4-stroke is rated API SL,SJ/SH Diesel CF ($7.00/qt)

Amsoil ATM 10W-30 HP Oil is Api SM/CF, SL, SJ ... ($10.00/qt oil)

As there is a price difference between ATM and ASE.... is ASE a GRP III and ATM a GRP IV?

Can they be used interchangebly in larger lawn equiptment engines as both overlap the API SL,SJ ratings?

The reason for asking is two fold....one I am interested in knowing this information as I am not an oil expert and secondly is that Amsoil ATM HP is available at Murrays down the street....ordering online adds $10.00/2qts for shipping.

Thanks

suggested retail is $8.70 for ATM and $7.30 for ASE
Certainly you could use either in lawn equipment, although ASE has a higher flash point and the proper additives for the higher potential heat of an air cooled engine. additionally it is JATCO-MA specd for Motorcycles.

so, while the ASE is specifically made for smaller air cooled engines, it would be perfectly acceptable to use ATM. If you are in the Grand Rapids area I can get you Amsoil without an additional shipping charge - or you can locate a dealer in whatever town you are in by searching the dealer lookup page at http://www.amsoil.com/dealerlocatorresults/

I prefer ACD since I can use it in diesel and gas applications. As a prefered customer I order by the case, comes out to less then $6 per quart before tax and shipping. I use it in my F150 and its in my Rio now. In my opinion its one of their best oils.

Thanks for the input!

Motorcycle specs: •JASO MA/MA2 (Motorcycle Wet Clutch)

That basically means no friction modifiers not necessarily a "beefier" oil right?
