I have a Pre-Luber, fender mounted electric oil pump, hooked up to a toggle switch. When I get into my van, I turn on the pump, and watch the oil pressure build. When the pressure is in the normal running range, I start the engine. I believe it is a tremendous aid, especially in a vehicle that is used infrequently.
It is also helpful after a long trip during very hot weather. I shut the engine off, and flip the Pre-Luber on and circulate oil through the engine to cool it.
