Which Amsoil engine oils are Group IV engine oils and which are Group III? I think the XL-75's are Group IIIs but everything else is Group IV?

Just the XL line is Group III.

Easy to tell by looking at the bottle. The Gr. IV all say 100% SYNTHETIC

They are (product code)

Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil (TRO)
Series 2000 0W-30 (TSO)
Series 3000 5W-30 (HDD)
5W-30 (ASL)
10W-30 (ATM)
10W-40 (AMO)

No, only a few are 100% Synthetic.

Series 2000 75W-90 Gear Lube
Series 2000 75W-140 Gear Lube
Series 2000 Racing Grease

Not sure Mike is coming from a position of knowledge, but I can assure you that all the other gear oils, ATF and greases are synthetic base oils (not group III or lower).

As Paul said, greases and gear lubes are Group IV (possibly some Group V added).
On the other hand, don't know what group the synthetic in the semi-synthetic Bar and Chain Oil is, nor in the Semi-Synthetic EP Slideway, Chain and Gear Oil.
But no-one else has asked about it. I'd guess that 99.4% of consumers don't know and don't care.
Why else would the guy with the new Mercedes be out looking for the $11.95 oil change special??

Why did Amsoil choose to do this for the gear oil and grease?

For $7+/qt of non-series 2000 gear oil you'd assume it would be a Group IV.

Also, I assume that their universal ATF is also a group IV and not a group III or II/III blend?
