cross border shopping or order pickup for D4, $9 for Amsoil is great deal, warehouse?

just to update the thread and op, my prelude did have that nudge when coming to a stop some times, did 1 drain and fill last night of Amsoil ATF and it shifts smooth (can't even feel it down shift). Will have to see how it holds up thoe.

I should probably do another drain and fill next week to have a higher concentration of the fluid in the tranny.

Also anyone notice the Amsoil atf to be a bit thicker and has a strong stench (both of course does not matter as it's going in to the transmission lol)

Yeah it smells like cougar peee.

I use Petro-Canada DuraDrive MV Syn ATF on my 1998 Honda Civic with 248,000km and on my 2005 Honda Civic with 82,000km. I have noticed an improvment since using them.

Anyone know why in the old days, no off-the-shelf universal ATF put "recommended for Honda ATF Z1" (except Amsoil I guess), but since a few years ago, a lot of them have that wording on it?

What prompted them to start doing it all of a sudden?

Probably two different things. First, there were enough positive reports from "renegades" who used it in their Hondas, and secondly I'm guessing that Amsoil( and other makers ) did some lengthy testing of their own to warrant the inclusion.

Lubrizol and other additive suppliers have developed multi-vehicle additive packages. They have been conducting bench and field testing over the years:
