AMSOIL ATF causing TCC shudder?

Has anyone else heard of this? I couldn't find any mention of it here...

A member on another board said he developed the infamous 4R70W TCC shudder after switching to AMSOIL ATF in his '04 Mercury Marauder. Another member said that he has heard of more than one occasion where this has happened. I'm not trying to bash AMSOIL here; my understanding is that AMSOIL ATF is a fine product. Many of the members of crownvic.net swear by it and this is the first I've heard of any issues with it...

This is the first I heard of this. Shudder is always possible in a transmission that was slipping a bit to start with. The new fluid, especially a synthetic fluid, will clean the oxidized old fluid off the plate surfaces leading to a possible shuddering. What was the condition of the fluid that came out?

Have them reset whatever computer controls the Ford transmissions. Most transmissions are adaptive. New fluid is shock to the TCM programming.
The transmission should adapt with time, but will be annoying until then.

I also find that most people don't know the difference between a transmission shift, TC lock or unlock, and shudder. A new ATF will sometimes amplify the feel that the driver will notice. Most people adapt slowly(as the ATF wears and shears) to their vehicles and don't notice these changes. But, a sudden change from a sheared/tired thin ATF to new ATF is very noticeable especially since the transmission is adapted and remembers the old fluid.

Other things to consider:
Was the transmission level correctly checked?
Was it a full flush or just a pan drop?

This isn't the first time I've heard of Amsoil ATF causing TCC shudder.

I recall reading a post from another board, DieselRam IIRC, by a respected DC transmission rebuilder. He said that Amsoil ATF is a good product, but in about 15% of the units he rebuilt, he experienced shudder issues. However, I think he rebuilt the units with a "performance" empahsis.
