This is my first official post. I have been reading this site for months. Very informative.

I have a 2008 Sonata 3.3L. Bought it new in late November of last year. I drive a lot as is evidenced by the over 13,000 miles on it. My daily commute is 40 miles each way but I do plenty of other driving throughout the day.

I have had a few "break-in" UOA's via Blackstone just to make sure things were trending in the right direction. This is my first longer OCI (sample taken at 3624 miles). Oil is still in the engine as I am trying to run it out to 7,500 miles. I know this isn't long but I am still under warranty.

I am inexperienced interpreting these UOA's but, to my untrained eye, the flash point doesn't seem good. I can't imagine a fuel dilution issue as I drive so much. Blackstone sure doesn't think I have a fuel problem (per their comments). I want to run this OCI out to 7,500 but not if there is a fuel issue or if aluminum/copper/silicone levels are still too high.

Thoughts on this UOA from you experts?

Blackstone's fuel reading can be off. FP Starts at 442°F, so I would say there is some fuel in your oil. Did you sample hot after a hard run?

TBN is great, break-in metals low. 7500 miles shouldn't be an issue.

Definitely sampled hot (I have a Fumoto valve) but not after a hard run.

What engine issue would cause this amount of fuel to get into my oil?

It's not that much fuel for now, don't sweat it. It's blow by from the rings. Just keep an eye on it and the viscosity (normal for now) and mention it to Blackstone next time.
