Amsoil and HPL

I have used Amsoil in the past, for quite a few yrs actually and have been looking at the line of HPL products.
I did order some HPL 75-140 for a rear differential change, (haven't got around to it yet), simply because it's just
too darn hot and I have nowhere to do it that is cooler.
I"ve read different articles on just how good the HPL products are blended and, how good they are protecting the
internal parts of whatever you are changing over to it.
But, since I am on Social Security and a small retirement from my ex employer only, both are so darned expensive that
I have been seeking other options. So, for my new motor oil I have went with Havoline ProDS 5w20 and it seems to be running
just as smooth as the Amsoil I've been using for the last several yrs. And since changing to it, I'm now due for my next oil change
and the engine, with 154,000 miles, is still on the full mark. And oil is pretty darned clean. Guess I've found my new oil hahaha.

Without knowing your application, environmental conditions, operating conditions or OCIs, well, it's hard to know if you made a good decision or not ...

Havoline Pro-Ds is a excellent engine oil, depends on your oil change intervals, mostly 5k and filter every 6 months whichever comes first,or even a bit longer,HPL maybe a over kill oil for most common uses,,what kind of vehicle, engine, driving habits etc can dictate also your requirements.

Well I'm in Missouri and it gets very hot here in the summer. Occasionally we have pretty cold winters as well.
Nothing like we had back in the 70s or 80s but, pretty cold sometimes.

I’d be interested to know how the diff fluid works out. I’ve tried oem, amsoil severe gear and motul mineral 80-90. None were as quiet as the schaefers 75-90 I just put in. I’m not looking for a lube that last 100k, my transfer only holds 10 ounces. I’m looking for low noise. I’ve used ppcmo 0-20 and, imo, it’s louder than just about any oil I’ve tried.

Dummy me I thought you said
Pro-DDS as that's only available in 0w20 and ADA approved.
As long as you are happy, it's all good.
