You don't see many people running Amsoil 0w-40 in cars. Is there any reason for this? It looks like it has good numbers, although the formulation must be different bc it calls for 7,500 mile drains.

I think it was really formulated for small 4 stroke motors, not geared towards passenger cars. I think that's kinda of odd considering Mobil 1 pushing the whole European formula thing and most people being so wrapped up about the numbers on the bottle. I think they could market it very effectively to the BMW/Merecedes/ VW crowd.
I'm guessing there is some very good reason they recommend a shorter drain interval than their other oils. Perhaps it's something about the additives in that particular oil.
