According TS and Terry, Amsoil 5w-30 is the best oil for winter. If your already using Amsoil, I'd stay with it. GC looks to be good, but it's not a proven oil in my book. A few more UOAs' we can start to determine how good it is. A 3.4 HT/HS is more then good enough. I would't worry to much about that number. It seems that it doesn't really correlate to shearing of an oil. Amsoil is also proven to be one of the best so I'd stay with it.

It seems that Amsoil have changed their specs for the S2K 0W-30 TSO again. The HTHS is down to 3.4 from 3.5. With CG having an HTHS of 3.6 and costing nearly 40% less, I think I'll run GC in my car this winter.

What do the Amsoil gurus think? I've run my car exclusively on Amsoil (ASL, TSO, ATM) and I'd like to stay with Amsoil, but I'm not sure it's better than GC for 6K mile intervals during winter in Toronto...
