If you are not using any additive, follow the recommendation of Blackstone and change your oil every 5k. Why aren't you using 5W-30 for your car? The other thing which Amsoil product are you using? XL or the ATM?

ATM and I specified that it was dosed w 4oz ARx. I had 8 gallons of it had to use it somewhere.I'm running SSO in it now and see how that works out. going to pull another test @5k and see what shakes out. these 4 bangers beat the h ell out the oil.

11 ppm of lead in 7,6XX miles? Not that one shouldn't take the time to find problems before they arise but do you see this as something that will rear it's ugly head later? I don't see that happening, maybe chalk it up to your engine likes to throw slightly more lead. I doubt that this will lead (no pun intended. thank-you, I'll be here all week.)to a premature failure of any sort.

I would say try it without the Arx, I think the ARx esters are doing some chelating. Dunno. Let's see how the SSO does withOUT any additives.

no ARx this go around. I want to see how the SSO does on its own. also put an EA filter on. wish I had bought the 10 and not the 9 though. if the UA is 3 for 3800 mi then I'm running double for 7.6K mi.

I tend to share this sorta attitude. While lower is always preferred, it's not like you're going to grenade the engine. My 4.0 throws higher Pb and Cu than I like. For all I know it's from my wife lugging the thing on occasion ..or it just throws a little more Pb.

it does do a 250 mi round trip every weekend to the Pocono mts plus its daily 18 mi round to work. I know my g/f has to spin the pi ss out of it to get it to go up some of the hills. the same for my 4.3 but I rarely spin it over 4.5K.

Lead and copper seem to be bearings. Is the tranny a manual? Spinning the [censored] out of the engine shouldn't cause the problem. lead and copper have been up through several UOAS ...a trend.
