One of the fitters on the job asked how "accurate" the machine was.

"Is 0.009 calibration good enough ?"

was the answer.
 
Yes, QA.

A variety of methods. Optical comparator, bore gauge, profilometer, visual inspection, etc. Now mind you this nozzle could fit in a 3" cube, and we have dimensions, profile features and such with less than 0.001" tolerance.
 
It looks like it could be used to hold a gun and attached to your security system to take care of intruders...

Seems like user errors to me. Faro said they have 13 micron precision and that's 0.00052" accuracy. Now if it is off by 1 unit that'll be a swing between 0.00052" and 0.00104", not enough to measure.

Was wondering if they can use optical method to measure, why would they use a contact type measurement like Faro.
 
No way does a Faro arm have that accuracy and precision in practical use. That's a claimed accuracy.....
