Another D-Max owner got this bulletin from Isuzu, specifically for the Aisin awr6b45, as fitted to these (also in Toyotas).

Toyota's fluid spec is also TOYOTA ATF WS...and nothing else.

Thoughts ?

(No I'm not going messing with it...the 6L50E had specific warm up for level checking, looks like there's a setting mode to ensure it here...)

I can't quite parse your point. Is it that they are accusing owners of putting DexIII in (the highlighted bit), and that is why they are failing?

It's still better than the days when Isuzu cheaped out from political/ownership pressure and used GM transmissions instead of Aisin. Ask me how I know... ;)

Retro-ish Isuzu porn for the thread thrill (though I had to rebuild the transmission in this one more recently than later)...

Was a new bulletin that someone forwarded to me.
Basically, what is the spec, and is it the same as the Toyota spec ?
i.e. is it an Aisin spec, sold as Isuzu/Toyota ?

Is it likely that the Dex's really do damage ?

Just interested
