Airbag recall people hunting me down?

Yeah, Dodge took all of their quality contol people off of that job, and put them in the airbag search team! Now the door don't fit, but airbags won't cut your throat in an accident! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
You would think the guy would have tried to figure out who the current owner was. I told guy he doesnt have the current owner info.

Interesting concept for a business - mobile recall.

Ford is pushing dealers to have mobile services for certain recalls.
They are primarily doing it to protect themselves 😂 Owners ignore letters, don't get them, or can't be bothered, so give credit to Ford, Honda, etc who make every effort to make it as convenient as they can. In the case of some of these airbag recalls, some of the steering wheel replacements are literally 5-10 minute jobs and it makes a TON more sense to do this mobile vs tying up the service department, paying porters, service writers, car washers, and so on.
Bring the car to the dealer they will run a vin check and identify recalls and schedule a repair.
You can check for recalls on hundreds of websites, from NHTSA to the automaker's own websites. Definitely no need to waste time and fuel going to a dealer.

I respond by saying "awesome" just hand me the parts and I will do it myself, so the car does not get messed up.
I think all those inflators should be replaced every 5 years. The only difference between the replacements and the ones that goo poof, is a bit of desiccant. And when the desiccant is saturated then what? Maybe they could use a 1/4 stick of what road builders use instead? :ROFLMAO:
Ive always wondered why cops hide behind buildings to do paperwork. I swear you're lucky to have 5 minutes uninterrupted anymore these days to get anything done. I was just trying to go to work and collect my thoughts for the day.

I bought a used VW from a local non VW dealer. In the owner's manual was a card to send in to update current owner information. I always send those in. Within a couple of weeks, I got a letter from VW. Item one was notification of an open airbag recall. Item 2 was a warranty extension for certain components in the fuel injection system. I had the airbag recall done ASAP. No hassles and it only took about 45 minutes. It pays to stay in touch with the manufacturer of your car.

I like to think they had Jim Rockford tailing you for weeks, until the right opportunity came up to nab you at the gas station.
I almost blew a gasket on that guy too. I was about to be all what are you doing, following me around? He wasnt there when I first pulled up and I easnt inside the station for more than maybe 4 minutes

NHTSA is not always accurate for recalls and does not always reflect if a recall repair was actually performed.

There's only like two air bag manufacturers and I'm pretty sure they've both had recalls. Literally every vehicle in north America has a recall for the airbags unless you got it fixed of course.

I had an open Takata recall on my 08 Silverado for most of the 3-ish years I owned it. Got postcards etc probably monthly-- some from GM, some from the local dealer. Ignored them. Figured I'd just have a closed casket funeral. 😁

I mean, really, get it right the first time.

Mobile service makes sense for the cunning sole proprietor-- imagine all the rent and utilities you aren't paying by doing this freelance. I still wouldn't trust a "lifesaving" safety device to some fly-by-night dude unless I was convinced he was fully endorsed by the OEM.
