I'm looking for a good alternative to the stock Acura 2006 TL air filter. It's a paper 2-stage that seems to have one side pre-oiled. I hear it filters well but it pretty restrictive. Any good options out there? No K&N or similar oiled gauze filters please because I fear poor filtering ability. Thanks.

I would stay with OEM, Purolator Pure One, or the Fram Tough Guard line for filtering ability and flow. A less restrictive filter will allow more dirt into your engine. For more flow you sacrifice filtering ability. You have to choose what is more important to you.

I've been waiting for Amsoil to come out with an EAA filter for the TL. It would filter as good or better than OEM and flow like a K&N. Unfortunatly it looks like that's never going to happen.

For what it's worth I used a K&N for a few thousand miles and the intake tract looked spotless, no light dust or anything. I still gave into fears and went back to paper. I've read AC Delco makes some of the best filtering paper filters.

If you're looking for a good quality paper air filter, I suggest STP. The filter number you need for your Acura is a SA9600.
