I have an old 2.5hp Craftsman compressor. Lately it will kick off at 95psi and not kick back on untill its under 70psi. I have the regulator turned all the way up. Is this a sign that the regulator is bad or is there something else I need to change?

Your pressure cut off switch may need adjustment. Check if yours is adjustable. if not, you'll need a new switch or live with the lower pressure

Ditto on the pressure switch. I have a Craftsman and the switch was out of adjustment so it would switch off way early. You may have to open the electric box (unplug it first!) to find the adjusting screw, and if it's like mine it may be one of those tamper-resistant screws with a special head on it.

+1 the regulator just does what it can with what it has... The cutoff switch is the key.
