2009 BMW 3 series, windshield replaced many years ago with a Saint Gobain windshield. It seems that air bubbles have developed in front of the rain sensor. The rain sensing function has been poor despite multiple re-initializing attempts in INPA, so I suspect I have to do something to eliminate the air bubbles.
I understand that this rain sensor is the older "less forgiving" style where the purple lens/prism is adhered to the windshield. What's the best process to fix this now?
Is the DIY fix with clear RTV silicone adhesive/sealant the best way: https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/diy-rain-sensor-reattachment-fix.615032/
Or do these replacement adhesive pads work as well: https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Silicone-Windscreen-Multi-Purpose-Chevrole/dp/B0BZMCRXJZ
Any feedback or input is appreciated.
