Good day everyone.
I have Agri-Fab pull behind my mower leaf vacuum with Briggs 900 series 205cc motor. Plastic timing gear on that motor is toast. They don't make them anymore and I will need to buy a whole crankshaft assembly for $179+shipping to make it work again. That made me look in to getting a Predator 6.5 HP 212 CC motor for $149 and making small shaft adjustment to make the impeller work. Today I was about to pull the trigger on that motor when I noticed 8hp 301cc motor on the shelve for a little more. Would extra power be beneficial for a leaf vacuum? Would it be worth upgrading or just stick close to the stock? They are both about the same RPM's. Both will require some welding to get impeller on.

May be some bushings or adaptors available . Research some places like Jacks Small Engines or other online vendors before attempting to much welding. Think the impeller is fairly heavy and don't want to get things out of balance.Predator 212 has at least as much power as the Briggs and is easily tuned with jets and timing keys for more.

That was the only my worry that I would have to be very very careful welding. Lots of grinding. But unfortunately there is nothing out there. Unless I go to machine shop and have them make something special for me. But that's going to cost pretty penny.
