After ARX tranny treatment

I'm about 1,100 miles into an Auto-RX transmission treatment on my '88 F-150. I've been getting some slippage on the 1-2 shift under semi-hard acceleration. It seems to have improved some about 800 miles into the ARX. My question is after the 1,500 miles, I'm going to pull the transmission pan, drain the torque converter and figure out some way to flush the cooler. After I get rid of the majority of the old fluid, I was wondering if I could mix Dexron III and Type F to minimize the slipping. The transmission has over 200,000 miles on it (truck has 425,000 and running great), so I can imagine there isn't a whole lot of friction material left on the clutch discs. Since Type F has less friction modifiers, I'm wondering if the half-and-half mixture would allow me to squeeze a few more miles out of this transmission.

It probably would shorten the life of what is left due to the harder grab. imo.

FWIW, the advice that I've come to accept is that once you start seeing problems like this, its only a matter of time before you need a rebuild. 200k is excellent for a transmission. If you've noticed an improvement, its probably because the RX is restoring some of the old seals and improving line pressures. I doubt that the RX would affect the clutches directly.

I also agree with Steve that type F would probably do more harm than good.

Please go to www.auto-rx.net and read application instructions for transmissions.You should have drained fluid at 1000 miles.Auto-Rx is real chemistry and works with any oil however amount of Auto-Rx to be added to a quart of transmission fluid is different than with engine oil.

The transmission has a Lucas additive, which is why I'm going the 1,500 miles before changing the fluid.
