Does it really matter if you add dexcool
to green coolant for a mix. I need to drop
the coolant to change the upper and bypass hose.
Since the WM and dexcool stuff is everywhere including all night grocery stores, its alot easier and often the same price to add dexcool
so I might end up 50/50 green / yellow.

I usually change every year with a drop so I would continue on my 12-18 month cycle.

The myth persists that the cautionary not to mix EL coolants with conventional coolants is due to chemical incompatibilities and a further erroneous assumption that terrible things will happen to cooling system components if the instructions are ignored. Baloney. Trade publications have established that the chemistries are compatible, but the mix's working life will be limited to that remaining of the current coolant if the proportion of the remaining current coolant is above 10% by volume. Your stated plan will not result in irrevocable disaster.

I found some green proline for $7 so I'm still green but with two drains in a month it's at least new green.
