Add oil temp guage to Ford 3.0L

Does anyone know the best place to put the sender for an oil temp guage on a Ford 3.0L Vulcan? I'm thinking the oil pan, but not sure if there is somewhere on the engine where a 1/8", 1/4", or 1/2" NPT could connect. Thanks for the help, Brian

I think you can get a special plug to go in the drain hole to hold a temparature sensor. I don't know where to get them, ask at an auto parts store. I think that's the best place to read temperature.
