M1 5w30 is A5/B5 again

Here is the PDS and here is a recent thread about how M1 5w30 is A5/B5 but not the AFE 0w30

There's not really anything "above" A5. It's simply a specification (or "sequence") promulgated by ACEA.

A5 oils include:
PP and PUP
M1

What's wrong with a 5W-30 in A3/B4?

That's a silly requirement. Higher number doesn't necessarily mean better when it comes to ACEA specs.

I think all typical resource conserving oils are a5/b5 and has nothing to do with the brand. They are typically lower viscosity, lower hths oils.

So thicker (higher viscosity) and higher hths oils can't be a5/b5.

Nothing is wrong with it; just following the car manufacturers specifications.

We've seen that stupid wording a few times. Exactly what is supposed to be above A5/B5? Would it be A3/B4 or C3 or C5? Are E specs even higher? Sheesh.

No regular 0W-20 can have A5/B5. You need HTHSV between 2.9 and 3.5 cP.

Most synthetic GF-5 xW-30 oils satisfy A5/B5.

Yes, there is no "above," except for the year version, currently being 2016. Next version, which will be above the current, is expected circa 2020.

I knew it it is KIA or Hyundai.
There is NO such thing as ABOVE.
ACEA C3, A3/B3 and B4 are probably more advance than any ACEA A5 oil. But per logic in Hyundai/KIA they should be of lower quality.
