Okay so my first time ever cutting open an oil filter. I’m far from good at this.
This filter was ran on my 6.2L Sierra directly after fixing the lifter failure for 500 miles with my dealers bulk 0w20. You can see down in the can some sparkles that the filter caught.

If you’d like a certain picture just ask! It’s still setting on my work bench (at work).

Hope you enjoy thanks!

Looks good, did you delete the AFM? I let the filter sit for a few days on some newspaper, then flip it over for a day before I cut it gasket side up, less mess.

No I went back stock because I did lifters in December of 23, and this time GM footed the bill. I plan to buy everything to delete it though.
Looks good for a very short run as most filters would after 500 miles.
Yep, I just wanted to get any contaminants out of the engine, and the oil, and filter cost me nothing.

Looks good. What oil and filter in and on?

'Looks like the outer auxiliary baseplate gone from this one. I'd be curious what the bypass seal area looked like with a light test.

Filter looks fine, as one would expect at the noted fci. Can't really see center tube but assuming it is an ecore.

Thanks for c&p.

Another PF63, and Mobil 1 ep 0-20.

I’m not sure what you mean exactly by the first part, and It is the ecore.

These ACDelco ecore filters used to have an outer extra baseplate, recently eliminated it seems. As for seal area comment, needs context to explain and not that important. I was more musing about something seen recently on Champ Labs made filters. Thanks for the reply about ecore.

He's talking about how well the part with the bypass valve fits and seals on the end cap where it sits. Some filters that have a metal-on-metal interface like that will leak light through small gaps. You'd have to install the two pieces together and then shine a flashlight up into the center tube on the opposite end while in a dark room to look for light leaks. If it leaks light, it can leak dirty oil in use.
