AC Maintenance?

If good oil and filters are the best thing I can do for my engine and transmission, what is the best thing I can do for my air conditioner? Is there any simple thing I can do to extend the life of my AC system?

just run it occaisonally during the off season. The system is totally sealed and only needs seeing to when something is wrong.

Not using the AC is what seems to cause problems. There is oil in the system which keeps everything running smoothly but you have to run the AC to circulate the oil. Once a week for 15 minutes or so is what I try to do. All of my vehicles kick the compressor on when in defrost mode or blend as well as AC or MAX AC.
