I've got a 2024 Trax, I've been using the PF64 the first couple of oil changes. I've noticed the Tough Guard is a little cheaper, has better filtering efficiency, and a silicone antidrain back valve. I do six month or 5,000 oil changes.

I'm sure either one will be fine. The silicone antidrain back valve is moot point on most chevys can filters since they run vertical and always have oil in them.

They legally couldn't deny a claim based on not using a "GM part" as long as the oil filter meets spec which TG does. But, to your point, it does remove that part of any "hassles" if you use an ADC filter.
Yes they could if the aftermarket filter was found to be the root cause of the failure. No, they can't void the warranty on the whole vehicle, but they could deny warranty for any damage caused by a non-OEM/GM part being used.

You are certainly correct.

With that, after witnessing 2 AC delco failures myself, I won't use them. If I had a failure the dealership would probably question more of the oil change not done being at there dealership then the ACD filter.

They would have to prove that the part was the cause of the failure.... in theory. In the real world they just have to make the claim. Of course they have a much better legal dept than their customers do.
