the ac delco filters at my walmart are a white can and they are about 3.30$ can which is the cheapest price ive found... is this the good filter everyone praises. its the code with like P##C or PF##C

i remembber there was a "c" at the end of the code...
can anyone clear this up, is it a good filter??

I was just at my chevy dealer today to pick up an AC delco battery. I noticed on their shelves in the back that most of their new filters were shrinkwrapped!

It has always been my understanding that the "white" AC Delco filters that you buy in Canada are not the same as the "blue" ones from the US. They are manufactured by some one different and are not as good. I do not think you can buy the "blue" ones in Canada. Roger

Why is the branded items sold in Canada almost always different than the US counterpart? Is it to subsidize the Canadian manufacturering base? I know a certain percentage of TV and radio time has to be soley Canadian.

I am not even sure that the white filters are made in Canada. I just think they are different. As far as the radio and TV think goes, it is so the American culture will not take us over--as if it has not already. The problem is, most of the American shows are so much better than the Canadian ones we would watch only US shows and forget who we are. Kind of a dumb and usless rule in to-days society of 400 channel sat. dish TV. Roger

Thanks for the reply. Sometimes I get the impression Canadians just do things different even when it is not the most effcient or better way just to say they are Canadian and not American.

The white AC Delco filters in Canada are made by Dana in Cambridge ON. They also make Wix, NAPA Gold, Carquest premium and Kralinator. The AC Delco filters don't use the same semi synthetic media as those others though, and they use nitrile instead of silicone for the ADBV.

They are both made by Dana, but are not the same. The Dana rep I emailed with told me the AC filter was not as good as the others.

Hold up, Walmart is now selling Ac Delco oil filters?

They used to, but all the ones in Toronto stopped selling AC Delco a year or two ago. So the original poster of this thread is lucky if his Walmart still carries them. My local Walmarts didn't even wait for their existing stock to get sold out, they simply removed the entire supply one week to make room for other stuff to be put there.

So are these White ACDELCO's any good? how do they rank? they are the cheapest pricest filters in my area. are they better then the frams?

They are definitely better than the Frams, and at $3 or $4 they are a good deal. But if you buy them from a dealer they cost closer to $10 and are not worth that much. For that price you might as well go with a Carquest premium or NAPA Gold.
