AC Belt vs DC Chain Garage Door Openers

I find that the quietness of the opener is more related to the location than anything, in our previous house we had a detached garage so I really couldn't care less about how noisy it was. This house is a ranch so "somewhat quiet" is probably good, but not like a house where there is a living area above the garage (especially a bedroom). That's the only application where I'd spend gobs of money for something particularly quiet.

Sommer newer units are wifi capable. Mine is older than 5 years it just has HomeLink and couple of Carpenter Pencil type remotes.
