Hi everyone!

Just got a bunc.h of work done on the wife's old 2003 Cavalier. But I'n noticed it still has one issue to deal with-the smell of gas.....

It starts when the car is being warmed up in the morning, like almost through the vents (car has the heat on). Once you take off and drive though, the smell goes and stays away. Car runs fine other than that, car runs just fine. In MI, first thing I checked for was rust holes it could sneak in, but not not see anything. I have some ideas, but wanted to see what you guys thought......

Might add if there is a vacuum line on it, to pull it off and see if there is raw gas present, otherwise I would look for rotted fuel or evap lines.

Check the exhaust manifold ....looks ok.

Will have to check around the fuel lines....too dark to check now. Will in the morning.

Also noticed it only happens when when you turn the heat on. Start to drive it without the heat when first started, no smell at all....

Could be this....

Replaced the gas cap, took most of the smell away, but it still smells like gas when the heat goes on....
