A pleasant McDonalds experience!

McRib is pretty good…. not the healthiest but a good sandwich with crisp onions, pickles and BBQ sauce.

Mmmm Mmmm 🤤
Love rib sandwiches - but light on the too sugary cheap BBQ sauce

My local grocery store chain has an off brand in the frozen section. Used to eat them at work on break. I thought they were better than McD's
and cheap to boot

Not this brand but similar

Recent threads here have bemoaned the increase in "sandwich prices".
Threads about fast food and "subs" always drill down on the poisonous nature of the fare.

In an effort to sound wise, I suggested that perhaps the familiar business model of "making sandwiches" -which is a luxury- has run its course.
I also suggested that people might consider making and carrying their own sandwiches.

1) Renovated fast food joints are going "full app". That's where they place attractive deals. I suppose the cash paying customers are subsidizing the app payers.
2) How do you feel about all the litter which is produced? This is something we must resist perpetuating.

Maybe we can evolve.
Grabbing a coffee is a different thing though litter and driving there is still involved.

The solution to litter and many other problems is not to stop eating sandwiches or doing whatever the other thing is, it's to hold people who don't act right to account.

I had a friend from singapore, she suggested it was very clean and you would never find gum under a bench because you could get yourself canned if you did something like that, that might be a bit extreme but effective.

Went to Mickey's today for breakfast which was good. Although the standout was my $1.39 Large Black Coffee. Better than good to the last drop. Tasted like what they used to brag about 30 years ago. Flavorful, non bitter and the perfect level of strength (YMMV). Thanks whomever.
Yep. Their coffee is very good. Consistant and is always fresh. I get the large for $.99 with my app.

A friend of mine went there 3 times a day because he did not want to cook his own food, he passed away a month ago at 70 years old, and the cause was a Heart Attack.
Statins FTW obviously. If he was taking them the heart attack wasn't caused by food.

Interesting that quite a few people consider their coffee to be so good. It's "okay" to me but unless it's in the morning rush, I can never trust it's fresh. Too many times I've gotten old, burnt coffee from McD's. I even ask the worker if it's fresh and still laugh at the time one young employee responded, "yeah, we made it today".

Sometimes I'll have a craving for a Big Mac and when I get it, I remember why months go by between visits. But yes, I'll have McDonalds every now and then. I remember when they USED to have pretty good chicken nuggets. I'm not sure what over-processed mystery meat they are serving now-a-days.

Last weekend the Lady Friend and I split a $5 bargain meal at 2p. She ate the burger and I got the chicken nuggets, which were fresh and hot right out of the fryer. The whole meal was on point. Everything was hot and fresh and the Coke was super bubbly. I ended up eating about a third of Karen's burger and it was actually hot and fresh. The fries were great, still crisp and stood straight out. I must be living in McDonalds heaven. 🙄

It really depends. I've had fries and Chicken McNuggets that came straight out of the fryer and they were excellent. However, sometimes stuff is under a heat lamp for a while or comes out of a warming tray where it can be kind of soggy.

These days there are some better values at casual dining, like Chili's where I can get a burger with a side, an appetizer, and a drink for $10.99 and tax. That's what a Big Mac, fries, and medium drink cost.

I know. Chili's 3 for $10.99 is a good deal. The lady friend is not a fan so we don't go often.

I just don't get all the love for McDonald's coffee. It's nothing special in my book.
It is a great place to get consistent quality coffee on the road. 90% of the time it is better than just drinkable. 5% of time it has been sitting too long. Then the last 5% is that one that tastes so good you could drink it all day long. The cup in the first post lasted 4-5 hours. That is how long my nice insulated 20 oz mug keeps hot coffee (190°) at a drinkable temp.

Decent coffee, priced right; that's all.
Around here it's not that good. Any of the mom and pop diners and breakfast shops near me stomp all over it.
They probably actually clean the drip basket twice a day. And shut off the carafe heater when dripping so it doesn't burn those first couple ozs.

Yeah, I made the coffee in the morning at the last joint I worked. Out of necessity. Standard basket NEWCO commercial drip leased from W.B. MASON.

Learned the tricks to a good pot.

Now I want to try some McD's and prove me wrong.

Been tea drinking since I retired. Nothing like a good cup o' joe !
