Got a bonus nice day in December. Put sweats and jeans on and a long sleeve lightweight sweatshirt under my heavyweight black leather jacket. The hand warmers were in full use and the fairing in the up position. Rode 50.7 miles and averaged 56mpg on winter blend. The Beemer was running nice and feels good, despite the lack of maintenance. With the new tires the steering is a delight. Might get lucky again tomorrow 🙏

The tactile feedback on this bike is wonderful. Went down a road that the cracks were sealed recently. There was a lengthy zig-zag pattern that when going over, you could hear the stickiness on the tires as it went over the sealer, plus lovely feedback through the bars. GAP FTW

I'm a couple hundred miles north of you and spent the day today doing the same thing!

I have 11 MC's and ride them all regularly, including winter (as long as the temp is above freezing).

Rain tomorrow, then not a single day here forecast to have a high temp higher than freezing for at least the next two weeks, so took my opportunity yesterday and today to give them all a good ride before the deep freeze rolls in!

That's is a lot of batteries to keep charged. About the same weather forecast for here long term till.
I have ridden about 400 miles this December and late November. Clears out the winter fog when you get days like today.

Nice to see someone who knows the difference between a beemer and a bimmer. About ten years ago, the local BMW car dealer ran a radio spot with the GM saying something like, "come see our Beemers, blah, blah, blah. " I called the store and left a VM message for him saying I did not realize they were in the motorcycle business too. I never heard the ad again.

I am proud of the fact that I very rarely ever charge batteries in any of the six cages or 11 MC's I own.

I keep all of them on a regular driving rotation, and everything I own get driven/ridden long enough (at least once a month) to fully heat up the oil and fully charge the battery.

Agree, but for me it's not just winter. My vehicles are all very different from each other, so it's always kind of exciting when the next one comes up in the rotation to be put on the road.

Very therapeutic for me year-round!
