When I bought my 96 Saturn a couple years ago, it came with a cheesey aftermarket Kenwood KDC-119 CD Player. Terrible AM reception, only OK FM reception, and the sound quality was marginal at best.

Armed with a gift certificate and the will to replace this lackluster unit, I did some research. Bottom line: if you're on a budget, you can't go wrong with the Kenwood KDC-MP225. It was only $123 at the local Best Buy. Wiring harnesses are extra, of course, but luckily I didn't need one, the new unit has the same wiring as the old unit.

I'm impressed! I was hesitant to purchase another Kenwood product, but it's a really great value.

The 2005 Kenwood model (the 225 is a 2004 model) has a vacuum-fluorescent display (what Eclipse used to use and then switched to LCD to cheapen their product). Crutchfield is selling it for $150.
