The Senior Navy Chaplain, a Captain on the Naval Base was having some dental issues...
So the Chaplain went to base dental and had all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures made and put in.
So the first Sunday after the dental procedure, the Chaplain only preached for 10 minutes.
The second Sunday, the Chaplain preached only 20 minutes.
But, on the third Sunday, the Chaplain preached for almost two hours
After the service...some of the congregation asked the Chaplain why the two previous Sundays his sermon were short but on this Sunday his sermon was real long....
The Chaplain answered them by stating...
"The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk. The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot. The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures... and I couldn't stop talking!"
