moms 98 buick 3800 v6 has a big plastic cover over the engine, whats that about? looks? she wants me to change the upper radiator hose- how do i get this cover off?

Unscrew the oil filler tube and pull the cover off from the front. Then it slide up and off a mount on the back. It's there for looks I believe. And maybe to private some noise insulation.
yeah the spout that the oil filler cap screws into will come off with a 1/4 or so twist counter clock wise.. its there to cover up the ugly motor underneath. its held on by the filler spout up front and a lil tab in the back that fits under a lift point attachment.
